Patient Journey

At The Orthodontic Centre

Here at the Orthodontic Centre we pride ourselves on our clinical results and obtaining the perfect smile for you

But to get the result that we both want to achieve it is important that we work together as a team. Communication is the key to success.

All of our practices have offices away from the clinical environment where we can discuss the clinical problems in detail and also how we are going to correct them.

We will then take clinical records to enable us to plan your treatment and use these as a tool to show you the problems with your teeth and how we will approach correcting them.

All of our orthodontists at the Orthodontic Centre are registered specialists with the General Dental Council (GDC) so you can be assured of the very best standard of care throughout your treatment.

The Initial Visit

Taking Records

At the initial appointment the specialist will start the process of gathering the clinical records. Impressions (moulds), photos and relevant x-rays will be requested work which is often carried out by our Orthodontic Therapists.

As with our Orthodontists, the Therapists are also registered with the GDC and are qualified to complete clinical orthodontic procedures under the prescription of the Orthodontist.

All the staff you will encounter at our practices are knowledgeable and caring. They will put you at your ease, explain what will happen at the initial and follow up appointment and answer any questions and concerns you may have regarding your treatment.

The equipment we use is state of the art. This includes digital x-ray machines to ensure the best possible diagnostic images are recorded.

Follow Up Appointment

The Treatment Plan

This appointment will be carried out in our modern offices equipped with computer screens to show the records recorded at the last visit.

We feel this is the most important appointment and will discuss a tailor made treatment plan to suit your individual needs.

We will also explain the benefits of treatment, if there are any risks and the process in general.

You will also discover your commitment to the procedure whether it’s wearing elastic bands to gain a good bite or how to keep braces clean.

For all fee paying patients we prepare a full report which includes costs and a payment schedule.

This is posted to you so that you can then make an informed decision.
